• Perfume should be kept in a relatively dark place.

  • It should be kept away from the direct rays of the sun and any extreme heat.

  • Perfume does not like air.

  • Be sure to give your perfume stopper an extra twist when you replace it.

  • Be sure there is no trace of perfume on the neck of a bottle after you have used it. Rub your finger around it.  It will give you a touch more fragrance and helps prevent the glass stopper from sticking to the bottle.

  • If the stopper is stubborn when you buy a new bottle or are trying to open an older bottle, do not use force. Tap gently and evenly on all sides with glass (use another stopper or bottle) then work it back and forth until it loosens.

  • If you have bought or received a large bottle of perfume you                                 may need to transfer some of the perfume into a small bottle                                 or atomizer for daily use. That way you can store the unused                          portion in a cool dark place until you are ready for a refill.                                     You will need an eyedropper or tiny funnel.                                                      

    Any opened bottle of perfume-even well stored-will not last forever.                   Use them-do not store them. Perfume can oxidize and change character.

        

 

    Each essential oil and perfume has three notes:

  • "Notes de tete," or top notes, - Top notes have tangy or citrus-like smells.
  • "Notes de coeur," central or heart notes,- central notes (aromatic flowers like rose and jasmine) provide body.
  • "Notes de fond," base notes - (woody fragrances) provide an enduring fragrance.

Since the beginning of recorded history, humans have attempted to mask or enhance their own odor by using perfume. Many natural and man-made materials have been used to make perfume to apply to the skin and clothing, to put in cleaners and cosmetics, or to scent the air. Because of differences in body chemistry, temperature, and body odors, no perfume will smell the same on any two people.
